Summary

Altar to G-Ma Ruby honors the 70+ year career of my late Grandma Ruby, a seamstress who did alterations and repairs until she retired at age 89. As an ofrenda in an interactive, cross-cultural exhibition for dia de los muertos, this project asked gallery-goers to honor Ruby’s spirit by taking a seat and making an alteration to her dress with her own notions and tools.
