artist statement

I am an interdisciplinary artist working in fiber arts, performance, and public life. My style is conversational, joyful, gestural, invitational. I describe my practice as ‘social dramaturgy’ - creating work in community that offers new context/perspective or a deeper understanding of our shared environment and of each other.

With a commitment to sustainability, I enjoy utilizing found objects, natural materials, and thrifted items and work with a delicate, hand-crafted construction aesthetic. I’m interested in themes of repetition, ritual, exchange, sustainability and resourcefulness. As a meditation practitioner my work increasingly explores intimacy in public space through projects rooted in mindfulness and gentle exchange.

I believe art can be found in any moment, anywhere, and is for every person.

Social Works are projects that engage with community, offering exchange, interaction and participation.
